Utility Construction Systems Technology
The Utility Systems Construction Technician certificate program prepares students to be telecommunications construction crew members. Technicians will have skills in the construction and maintenance underground telecommunication utility systems, as well as skills for the water, gas, and sewer utility systems. The certificate program, which is open to anyone and can be completed in one semester, will prepare technicians for employment in the underground utility side of the ever-growing telecommunications industry. Technicians will be job-ready to operate equipment, work with fiber-optic technologies, and be knowledgeable of the prevailing regulations associated with underground telecommunications or other utilities work.
